Kaleo the Kommo-o had convinced his trainer to let him sign up for this event. While he wasn’t particularly into fighting, he figured it would be a good opportunity to prove his strength or grow in the process. He now stood in front of his opponent.

Brightly colored as it were, he didn’t feel particularly intimidated by it. But he figured the same would apply to the other perspective. He stared at his opponent, ready, waiting for the announcer to let them begin. This tournament was meant to focus on the martial arts, so he considered carefully what move to use, though he found them all lacking for an opener. Instead, he formulated another plan.

What was merely a few seconds felt like an eternity before he heard the sound of the bell ring loudly out onto the arena. With a thrust of his powerful legs, he jumped towards his opponent, one leg extended, ready to make a dynamic entry upon the torso of his opponent.

Okay, this was a little ridiculous.

Was the Kommo-o across from them also sparkling like they were? What kind of—

And then the loud noise that signaled the start of the fight echoed all around them, and all they could do was throw back their ears.

Oh? You dare approach me?

The Lopunny then made to dart gracefully out of the way, before suddenly lashing out with a surprise axe kick. How rude!

His entry was a failure, impromptu as it had been, he had at least hoped the Lopunny wouldn’t be ready. He had been wrong, a small detail which he now got to experience as he felt the heavy ax kick slamming down upon his scales.

But Kommo-o stood his ground. One kick wouldn’t do him in. He pushed himself away from the kicker for a short second making some distance between the two as lightning began to crackle all around his body. Normal Martial Arts wouldn’t be his winning strategy here.

The lightning moved to his fist, right fist. Sure it was a big tell. But, this Lopunny would have to dodge it as well, and that’s what he hoped it wouldn’t be able to do. With powerful exertion of leg strength, he charged towards his opponent, again hoping to aim this THUNDER PUNCH, right at her abdomen.

Oh, that hurt!

Blinking at the sudden recoil from the surprise attack, she huffed. There was no way in hell she was going to allow another—another one who had the audacity, the sheer balls to be as pink as herself—to take the lead!

Well, then.

Wiggling her ears around (as if seduction was going to work) she then wound up—

Before lashing out with an attempt at a High Jump Kick.

The audacity of this bitch in front of her! How’s that for delicate?!

His attack was seemingly ineffective. His Lopunny opponent was far more agile than he was, though he figured he still held the superior firepower if he could actually hit the damn Lopunny. The lightning swooshes from his fist and into the ground as he didn’t meet his target. The spectacle of it not lost upon the audience.

Before he could even see where the Lopunny came from. He felt the blunt force of a High Jump Kick bearing down upon his shoulder scales. He felt how his arm grew heavy and sluggish, luckily it was his off-hand. However, it was clear that this was a disadvantageous match. He couldn’t win if it was dragged out. A green aura began to cover his hands as they curled into fists.

At this distance, there was one advantage in this arsenal, and he intended to leverage it now. Using an ancient martial arts technique which he just made up named Strong Fist style: Consecutive Drain Punches. He would throw a series of these green-energy-covered punches toward the Lopunny.

She’d been lucky—so far.

And then in came the piston-like punches that were flung by the equally-pink opponent!

Clearly losing their head, she would give a cheeky blink before spinning around and attempting to lash out with a Protective screen; an attempt to weather or even ride out the incoming attack that she recognized as a Drain Punch—only with another spin placed on it?

That certainly looked ominous.

Kaleo’s face betrayed his emotions. Confusion, annoyance, and fear were painted in equal measure upon his scaled face. After the series of Drain-punches, he was spent. Tired, definitely growing weaker. But the Lopunny was none the worse for wear.

Is this my limit? He thought. No, he wouldn’t let Elinor down. He steeled his resolve, even if he might lose he would give the audience a spectacle for the day. But the Lopunny was quick on her feet, this she had proved. He needed to slow her down. And there was only one move in his arsenal which could do that. Though even he doubted his proficiency in its use.

A light fog-like air began to emerge from his fists as an icy-blue aura covered them. The differences in temperature between fists and air proclaimed loudly. And yet, he charged forward hoping to keep the Lopunny on its backfoot with a series of ICE PUNCH.

How dare—

The audacity of this… of this pink abomination bitch in front of her!

Reeling from the blow that had been inflicted on her, she knew she had to maintain her posture, to stand tall—there was no way in hell she was going to be knocked down that easily!

Two could definitely play that game—

And so she angled herself for a series of Triple Axel kicks.

It seemed the course of the battle was turning, dared he hope. As blow after blow landed seemed to hit. Still, his opponent wasn’t going to go down without a fight, this he knew.

Though he kept trying to force the issue upon her, he didn’t notice the angle that she was intentionally taking. Triple axel kicks suddenly upon him he impromptu blocked the attack with his scales, sending a loud clanging noise into the air as the kicks hit but barely did the damage.

Maybe it had been pure luck, maybe not. But Taking the hit and barely taking damage invigorated his fighting spirit. It seemed he was onto something with the ICE PUNCH.

And so he would continue with a series of ICE PUNCHs’ aimed one for the abdomen, and if it hit the follow-up would be aimed for the head, in a quick one-two-combo.

The first punch narrowly missed, however—

The assault wouldn’t stop coming.

Blow, after blow, after blow—

She really got in so deep in this corner, huh? Anyway—bracing herself as the blows kept on coming, she pulled her form into a crouching position once she’d managed to gain some distance away from the pink dragon and then fired up an Aura Sphere attack—if but to force the other one back so she could recover.

Fight, FIght, FIGht, FIGHt, FIGHT, FIGHT! FIGHT!! FIGHT!!! FIGHT!!!! This one word rang throughout his head as he continued his assault. But Yet, she braved for them, fought her way through, and managed to land another strike upon him.

The blow was heavy, he could feel how his body no longer wished to obey his orders. He coughed into his hand, looked at it, and saw blood. Heaving to breathe he gazed towards his opponent, sight blurry.

He had to fight. He would not lie down in defeat, not this time. A short respite was given to him for some reason. His legs almost buckled under his weight. Come on Kaleo, just one more, for her. He reminded himself. Finding just enough strength to stay upright. The sickly green aura of DRAIN PUNCH covered his fists again as he charged forward in one last-ditch effort to do some damage and maybe even turn it around.

The most recent attack from the pink Kommo-o slammed into her midsection, causing her to flinch.

Okay, that legitimately hurt! But she could tell her opponent wasn’t going to go down without a fucking fight, so she drew back her fists and attempted to launch a last-minute Reversal technique; trying to turn the power of the incoming attack on the other.

But wasn’t that Protect? How was this going to work?
